POCO C51: A Budget-Segment Smartphone!
Numerous low-cost smartphones in the Rs 10,000 price bracket have been introduced in India over the past two to three quarters. The Poco C51 is a newly announced entry-level smartphone with a price under Rs 8,000.
Speaking about design and construction, the Poco C51 stands out from competing smartphones in this class with its leather-like texture on the back. Although the brand is evaluating the blue variant, a black version is also offered. A dual rear camera arrangement is located in the device’s upper left corner. Additionally, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. It works quite well and unlocks the phone very quickly. The device includes a single speaker on top and a microphone, a micro USB port, and a headphone connection on the bottom. A SIM tray with room for two nano SIM cards and compatibility for an SD card with up to 1TB of storage can be found on the left side of the plastic frame.
A selfie camera is located in a teardrop-shaped notch on the front. It boasts a waterdrop-shaped 6.52-inch HD+ screen with a 720 x 1,600-pixel resolution. The display is 400 nits bright, and it also supports touch at a sampling rate of 120 hertz. The color reproduction is reasonable, and the text is simple to read. We also watched a few videos on this phone, and overall it was a good experience. Content from websites like Netflix and Prime Videos can stream at a maximum resolution of 540p thanks to Widevine L3 certification. The benefit is that YouTube videos can play amazingly fluidly and without any lag or buffering at HD resolution and 60 frames per second.
The device is flat and generally rather slender, and it has a terrific texture that, as previously mentioned, makes it really easy to hold in your hand. A cover is not included in the box; therefore, you must buy one separately. Even though Panda glass shields the front screen, we strongly suggest using a phone cover. Performance-wise, the Poco C51 has an octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 Processor, 64GB of internal storage, and 4GB of RAM. Our device has 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM with the option to add 3GB of virtual RAM for a total of 7GB of RAM. This facilitates multitasking and expedites the opening of apps.

The device has 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM with the option to add 3GB of virtual RAM for a total of 7GB of RAM. This facilitates multitasking and expedites the opening of apps. It has excellent battery life and can handle common daily tasks with ease. It may be used for social networking apps, email, WhatsApp, casual gaming, and email. Android 13 Go Edition, which is mostly stock Android with a few helpful additions, serves as the operating system. For instance, the well-known MIUI dialer is also provided. Users can record calls without hearing the obnoxious recording warning thanks to its simplicity and attractive design. Even for someone using a smartphone for the first time, the Poco C51’s user interface is fluid and overall pretty simple to use. Keeping in mind that downloading large files will take a little longer because the device only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi on a single band.
Two rear cameras are available on the Poco C51, one of which sports an 8-megapixel primary sensor and the other a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The device also includes a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies. Additionally, the smartphone offers a 1080p @ 30fps video recording option. Although the device didn’t have big hopes for its camera, it’s amazing how well the primary sensor with HDR performs. The pictures are quite detailed.
The Poco C51 is a practical smartphone that can handle most common chores with ease. It comes with the brand-new Android 13 OS. Since the phone does not come with a cover, one must buy one separately. The company has also included a micro USB connector for charging in an effort to cut expenses, something we don’t really like. Perhaps a USB-C type port would have been a better option. Overall, if all you need is a phone for regular use that costs less than Rs 8,000, the Poco C51 won’t let you down.
