‘Queen’ finally found her “Queendom”
Indian society or Indian toxic patriarchal society? India is a country where Husbands are treated as “GOD” and wives are treated as “DOG”, everything is opposite for both gender. Here, sons are considered to be the “Gem” of the family and daughters “Burden” of every household. Life is not the same for every gender, but cinemas take us to a different world of fantasy where everything seems too beautiful, just beautiful! However, there is this movie named “QUEEN” by Vikas Bahl that serves every female with a lesson to learn, understand and apply. Since childhood, the game of chess has taught us that the Queen is a game changer, but the entire time she concentrates on saving the king and not herself. In this movie, the queen changes her entire life for herself. HER!
Here, Rani Mehra, the protagonist is dumped by her love interest (fiance) who considers her not to be a perfect match for him. Vijay Dhingra decides not to marry her just the day before their wedding was supposed to be…
Now let me tell you, in a society where a girl is dumped by her fiance, she is no longer considered to be suitable for anyone else. Basically, you are left with heartbreak and taunts. Rani was less or more in the same situation, the plot twist is seen when she decides to leave for Paris for her honeymoon all alone. This honeymoon of hers taught her that sometimes you can love yourself and prioritize yourself rather than always valuing others.
Life had taken a different path after her this honeymoon trip. Rani started loving and prioritizing herself after that wonderful honeymoon, when she discovered herself, and how happy she can be all alone. This movie shows how life teaches you unexpected lessons in the most unexpected way. Every boss lady needs to come across that support system of hers, who can show her that life has more to it and that she can definitely give it a try to live life on her own terms, enjoy her own definition of happiness, and live her life to the fullest.
The movie comes with a happy ending where ‘Rani’ (Queen) realizes that she doesn’t need a Man to be happy, whereas happiness comes from within and no one can take away that from you. She discovered life is all about that “I” and the meaning of happiness that you discover. There will be many who come and leaves but what remains is the value of “I”. Finally, the QUEEN rules over her ‘Queendom’ that is her life, HER LIFE!
